On February 14th, Alpha spread the love in celebration of Valentine's Day!
This year, Alpha’s Visual Arts Council (VAC) and Alpha`s Music Council hosted an amazing event called Crush On You offering paper roses and candies to students and staff. Not only was this idea unique and one of a kind, the flowers looked absolutely adorable and everybody loved them! VAC spent a lot of time creating these handmade flowers, each made with love, and they ended up looking fantastic! For only $2, you could send a loved one or a friend a paper rose and some chocolates.
The roses and chocolates had to be pre-ordered and were distributed to students and teachers on Valentine’s Day, and many got a pleasant surprise!
Alpha students showed spirit by wearing various Valentine's colours such as red, pink, and white! People who dressed in these colours were awarded little chocolates in the cafeteria.
The enthusiastic President of the Visual Arts Council, Philman Yeung, played the ukulele and sang songs throughout the day to spread the love.
“Valentine's Day is really fun because I like spending time with my friends and getting gifts from them too!” stated Grade 8 student Karen Situ.
“The roses were so detailed, and it was such a nice surprise to receive one!” said Grade 8 student Wolfgang Kesting, who received one from himself.
Overall, Valentine’s Day was a very exciting and fun-filled day for the entire school! It was great to see everybody spreading the love here at Alpha.
