BOO! Were you scared? No? Okay then. But, weren't you up for a good scare during Halloween? Well, did you know that Alpha hosted their own haunted house?
This October, Alpha Theater Company put on their best costumes that left younger students jumping out of their socks. Theatre students worked very hard to create the world of the Haunted Hospital. It was “hard work trying to make everything perfect for opening night” said Paniz Najjar. “The hardest part was doing it over and over again, continuously,” said another.

Several theatre students performed in cells as patients within a dysfunctional hospital. The students who were attending the Haunted Hospital were led through the hospital by tour guides. They guided the students through a series of scenes, such as the rec room, the cafeteria and the operation room.

It took weeks and weeks of finding costumes, writing scripts, and collecting props, before the Alpha Theater Company were ready to perform.

According to Ms. Stewart, the theatre teacher, the difference between last year’s haunted house and this year’s was that this year it had “more of a storyline as opposed to last year,” and Stewart also mentioned that she decided that this year the haunted house would be more “vocal,” in contrast to last year’s quieter performance.

The haunted house was a “success and it went really well,” according to Stewart. It exceeded the Company’s expectations, since they had only anticipated eight classes instead of the nine that ended up attending. Ms. Stewart expressed her gratitude for all the participants. “I was really proud of all of the actors and the crew. I think they did an amazing job.”
