On November 8th, Alpha’s Grade 8 students took a field trip to Science World, their first field trip of the year! Despite the huge crowd of students, Science World was big enough to fit everyone. The students all met at Alpha to leave at around eight thirty in the morning to take the Skytrain to Science World, and arrived back at school just before the last bell rang.

What words does the Halloween season bring to mind? Pumpkins (and inevitably, jack-o-lanterns), candy (despite not being time-efficient, trick-or-treating is a cost-efficient way to get your yearly supply of fun-sized candy), spooks (jumpscares and haunted houses? Yes please!), but what else is something iconic that’s part of our Halloween tradition? Costumes, of course! By Estelle Hemmann and Victor Yin. Photos by Victor Yin.
What better way to spend a Tuesday night then by watching a horror movie in the dark with all of your friends? And that’s exactly what happened on October 25th, less than a week away from Halloween. The Dance Team, with the help of Ms. Stewart and volunteers, put on Dance of the Dead, which comprised of a dance performance followed up with “Lights Out,” a thriller film. The concession stand, manned by a team of volunteers, offered a selection of popcorn, hot chocolate, candy, as well as instant noodles to hungry students, parents, and faculty. |
